FIRE ON EAST BROADWAY

This morning at around 3am a tenement building on East Broadway caught fire.At 29 East Broadway, flames went up.  The building has 12 apartments and around 24 residents.  These people are temporarily displaced and are under the care of the Red Cross.  The Red Cross has temporarily provided accomdations at a local hotel.

They suspect that the fire was caused by an electrical problem.  Luckily no people were hurt.  Interestingly but sadly a pet wolverine and rabbit perished in the fire.  (FYI it is illegal to keep wolverines as pets).

It was also just last week that there was a fire on Oliver Street that seriously injured 6 firefighters.

While enjoying HK style food and tea,  you can sit in front of or behind interactive scene boxes.  These boxes show different HK scenes in motion.

I also love their tea cup pillars and their Coca-Cola lighting.  The food here is delish!  Try the fried rice or pan fried noodles!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AT HAMILTON MADISON HOUSE

Hamilton Madison House (HMH), a neighborhood community service center had a festive holiday party.

Families came for festivities that included face painting, cookie decorating, and visits from Santa and Frosty the Snowman!

0035MM is a small botique in the middle of the tunnel area that connects Elizabeth and Bowery.

What drew me into this shop is there display of hats.  They had a super cute variety of hats ranging from Domo to Pandas.  I was thinking that they would make great gifts for the holidays for some kids that I know.   Halloween doesn't just need to be one day of the year!
