Where people stand on the Chinatown BID (Business Improvement District) has been a very touchy subject over the past years. One of my community friends calls the BID, "Chinatown's 3 letter dirty word". The issue has really divided the community a lot more than I would like.

Luxury items like jewelery and diamonds are great buys in Chinatown. At Edcora Jewelry, designs are ultra modern. They have just released a new line of styles for the holiday season.
Domo is the new hot character of the season. Cute finds like this bags are available at inexpensive prices at ELIZABETH CENTER (BTW CANAL AND BAYARD STREETS).
57 BAYARD MEAT MARKET
57 Bayard Meat Market has reopened.
This meat market got a whole new facelift. The selection here is great. They have fresh fish, marinated meats, fruits and vegetables. Food here is as fresh as can be. Prices here are also inexpensive so you wind up winning. Great quality minus the price. That's what I like!
A new addition that I love is their prepared food section. There are days that you just don't feel like cooking. On my way home, I often pick up a cooked duck or chicken and some prepared sides.

GOLDEN UNICORN
Dim sum at Golden Unicorn is always a treat.
You can never go wrong with bacon wrapped shrimp. YUMMY! Sticky rice is also a favorite here. I would rate Golden Unicorn as one of the top dim sum places in Chinatown. It is slightly more expensive than other dim sum restaurants but well worth it.
